UV Sterilization is enhanced with XENON corporation's new SteriPulse-XL® pulsed light UV sterilization technology. A revolutionary pulsed lamp at the heart of the UV sterilization system fires pulses of light that penetrate deeply to achieve unprecedented degrees of purity. The pulsed light technology pioneered by XENON Corporation realizes higher UV sterilization speeds resulting in lower costs.

Instantaneous, high intensity pulsed ultraviolet light delivers the required amount of quantum energy sufficient to break chemical bonds and is capable of killing most microorganisms that it comes in contact with. All significant water pathogenic microorganisms are destroyed, thus disinfecting the water supply. Additionally, the pulsed UV radiation breaks down the toxic ammonia from fish wastes which contaminates the water hatchery eco-system, into nitrate that is similar to the results of the reaction of ammonia—>nitrite—>nitrate in the final stage of the natural biological metabolic waste conversion, known as the "Nitrogen Cycle." Nitrate is the final product, which plants utilize as a fertilizer, thus removing them from the water.

The new SteriPulse-XL® 3000 system offers a state-of-the-art technique that ensures purity through a high degree of penetration. XENON Corporation's pulsed lamp pulses three times per second; each pulse lasts only a few hundred millionths of a second but each is 50,000 times brighter than sunlight and powerful enough to kill high levels of all microorganisms. Moreover, the system's pulsed characteristics allow SteriPulse-XL® to function with virtually no heat buildup. This cool operation and the absence of toxic mercury and microwaves allows XENON Corporation to offer a product that is safe for you to use while it ensures the safety of your product.

The SteriPulse-XL® Surface Decontamination System employs pulsed UV light to sanitize the outside of packages containing sterile contents and prevents the introduction of microorganisms to a clean room or other sterile area. Capable of 6 log kill in less than one second, this low temperature, non-contact system eliminates the need for vapors and toxic chemicals and can be integrated into most on-line isolation transfer ports.

Featuring 16" lamps which deliver high peak energy 100,000 times more powerful than the sun, the SteriPulse-XL® Surface Decontamination System destroys the DNA repair mechanism of microbes. Assuring that the contents of packages are not damaged, pulsed UV light provides high throughput with less than 100°F heat, depending upon the process. Applications include the surface decontamination of any package containing sterile contents.

XENON Corporation's Pulsed light delivery systems, inactive microbes with remarkable rapidity and effectiveness. Only a few pulses are sufficient to completely eradicate microorganisms and provides a much higher rate of sanitization than standard continuous UV lamp exposure.

All microorganisms, with the exception of Mad Cow Disease, contain DNA. Therefore, a technology that destroys DNA will provide an effective means of sanitization, decontamination and sterilization. Because high peak power pulsed UV light kills DNA and inactivates all types of microorganisms, including fungal yeasts and molds, bacteria, rickettsiae, mycoplasma, and viruses, it is classified as a sterilization agent. It can be used in all applications that currently utilize continuous wave UV mercury vapor arc lamps. Examples are in research (R&D) studies, surface treatment, liquids and air decontamination.
