Wilmington, MA, USA - With the comment that his company
is on a fast track to increase productivity for customers
in the optical disc industry. Xenon Corporation’s
President and CEO, Louis R. Panico, is unveiling the details
of the company’s new generation of higher power
pulsed UV light curing systems. The RC-900 Series, which
uses less energy than mercury-based systems, prompts Panico
to say: “How many good discs do you have at the
end of the day? That number is the proof of your productivity.
And that number will go significantly higher with the
RC-900.”
The prime measure of the unit’s performance is the
faster pulse rate operation that gives the RC-900 the
ability to deliver 207Joules/pulse at 25pps max. A new
6kW power supply—the Model PS-916—powers this
higher pulse rate. Higher pulse rates are the key to higher
throughput.
Elegance is evident in all elements of the RC-900 Series
design. The high peak energy of each pulse eliminates
the need for nitrogen for oxygen inhibition, thus lowering
the costs of operation.
The need for shutters is also eliminated by the instant
ON/OFF control of pulse sequencing. PLC interfacing to
the RC-900 Series controller allows the user to set the
high energy pulse burst over the range of 1 to 25 pulses
per second, enabling ease in maintaining precise curing
energy.
The RC-900 series, available with both single (RC-901)
and dual (RC-902) lamp housings means users of Xenon’s
RC-800 series will be able to upgrade easily to the RC-900
Series, for all the interfacing controls are the same.
Units are comprised of a controller, a 6kW power supply,
and spiral lamp housing. The benefits familiar to users
of Xenon’s UV curing systems are all part of the
RC-900 Series: low substrate heat, mercury contamination
free, deep penetration, modularity and flexibility. Both
systems have CE approval.
Committed to the productivity fast track, Xenon is already
developing products beyond the market for indexing applications;
continuous motion applications (e.g. wood curing) with
InterWeave™ are introductions planned for the near
future.
Xenon Corporation, the world leader in pulsed UV light
technology, is known for developing and manufacturing
innovative products that deliver outstanding performance
in industrial, medical and research applications. In addition
to curing systems, Xenon Corporation produces high performance
pulsed UV lamps and sanitizing systems. End-users and
OEMs worldwide depend upon Xenon Corporation products
for longer life, greater reliability and reduced down
times. Xenon engineers welcome requests to configure curing
systems incorporating pulsed UV light. Applications assistance
and visits to Xenon’s labs are always invited.
