UV Curing System
Designed For Continuous Motion Processes
A new UV curing system that employs pulsed UV light to provide
“cool curing” in continuous processes such as
wood- and powder coating and digital- and narrow web printing
is being introduced by Xenon Corp. of Wilmington, MA.
Xenon’s CoolCureXL® InterWeave™ System features
two lamps which deliver UV light, a 3 kW power supply, and
new controller that allows both lamps to be pulsed at the
same rate, maximizing the conversion of energy into UV light.
Delivering 13 joules/pulse at 200 pulses/sec. to provide cool
curing in continuous processes running at up to 30 FPM, the
shape of these lamps can be custom engineered to meet OEM
process requirements for coverage and speed.
Ideally suited for curing heat-sensitive materials, Xenon’s
CoolCureXL® InterWeave™ System provides instant
on/off control, <300 microsecond pulses, fast cycle times,
deep penetration, and process flexibility. A suitable replacement
for continuous wave mercury UV systems, pulsed UV curing systems
consume up to 40% less energy, produce less heat, and do not
create VOCs.
