“Printed Circuits From Light”
Xenon Corp's Dr. Saad Ahmed Publishes Major Paper

Wilmington, MA—Saad Ahmed, Ph.D. of Xenon Corporation has delivered his new paper “Printed Circuits From Light” at several importantDr. Saad Ahmed conferences this past year. Now copies of the paper are available to download.

After exploring comparing and contrasting traditional printing and the traditional methods of printed circuit board manufacture, Dr. Ahmed goes on to reveal how cost-driven changes in PC technology have moved the production of PCBs much closer to printing techniques. It is now possible to print PCBs on flexible substrates such as paper and mylar. The key to the process is the ability to sinter (or anneal) the nanoinks used in the printing process. While the challenge, up to now, has been Printed Circuits from Light brochureheat damages to the substrates, Xenon Corporation’s pulsed light puts that problem to rest by producing a cure that uses high peak power pulses to sinter inks without melting the substrates. This technology has made it possible to use even silver and copper nanoparticle conductive inks on flexible substrates.

Dr. Ahmed’s seven-page paper, liberally illustrated with diagrams, charts and photos, tells the story compellingly and in detail. Copies of “Printed Circuits From Light” are offered on Xenon’s web site at www.xenoncorp.com/print_mkt.html#paper as a downloadable Acrobat PDF file and by clicking on this link. The web site also features a short video of Dr. Saad Ahmed speaking about the process. Also available on YouTube (click on image below).
